What is play-to-earn?

In a world where gamers have found ways to monetize their love for gaming through e-sports, tournaments, and streaming, the term Play-To-Earn (P2E) has grown exceedingly popular. At it's root Play-To-Earn is just that: Playing to earn rewards, whether real-world or in-game. With the advent of web3, P2E has become a major feature. In regards to web3, it is designed to help digital gamers do what they love, while earning cryptocurrencies and NFTs. As users play the games, they earn tradable currencies or NFTs that can be exchanged for digital assets and or other forms of crypto currency.

How do I earn with Fantom Survivor?

There is currently one way to earn while playing Fantom Survivor with additional methods planned for the near future.

Method 1

Weekly Challenges

Weekly challenges are... well, weekly challenges! We utilize our leaderboard to track Survivor (player) stats which we then display publicly to all other Survivors. These stats are used to rank you in the weekly challenges. Our most recent challenge was most headshots done; the top 3 Survivors with the most headshots are rewarded with the cryptocurrency relative to their chain (Fantom, AVAX, etc) and or an NFT. Survivors are able to compete with other Survivors to reach the top of a weekly challenges leaderboard in order to win prizes!

Method 2

Survivor coins

As you play Fantom Survivor you will notice that occasionally zombies will drop coins on death –– those are called Survivor Coins. There are currently only two uses for this coin. First, they can be used to unlock weapons within the games' Weapon Safe. If you have collected enough coins and happen to find a Weapon Safe, you can spend said collected coins to unlock a new weapon for the current play-through. On the off-chance an already-owned gun appears, grabbing it will reward the survivor with a heaping bundle of ammo. Second use is for the weekly leaderboard coin challenges. For example, there might be a challenge that requires collecting a certain number of coins fastest or collecting the highest quantity within the week. Reaching the top of either leaderboard will earn you prizes! Our vision for the Survivor Coin goes beyond these two uses. We play on making this a full-on ERC-20 token which will be utilized to mint NFTs (in-game add-ons). These add-ons will be 100% transferable digital assets. Another use will be in the implementation of Wager Matches which will allow an unlimited number survivors to pool together crypto and bet against each other in a challenge where the best survivors earn many multiples on their cost of entry.
